This section includes the basic steps in operating a computer, using WordPerfect to write a letter or complaint, and printing a document. Letter writing is important in the legal process. You must be able to state your case in a clear and meaningful way. Stick to the facts and briefly state why the issue or situation is important to you. A brief, polite letter will give a stronger and more effective message than a long letter. Keep in mind, you can always ask for a personal meeting with anyone to whom you write a letter. If you plan to file a case in court, you may need to use forms provided by the Circuit Clerk’s office to get your case added to the court's schedule. Ask a court employee to explain to you the proper procedure you will need to take.
