Welcome

Our goal is for you to easily and quickly understand the legal process, search the Internet for legal materials, write a letter, fill out forms, or print a document.  Because legal research can be complex and confusing, we have designed these materials with you in mind.  Throughout this Web site, you can click on any highlighted and underlined word for a quick link to specific information.  The Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia and the West Virginia Library Commission are pleased to provide this valuable resource for you at a library in your region.

Before you start:

Take a moment to look over this Web site or the printed user manual at each workstation that will explain to you basic computer use and the legal research process.

Review the video and booklet,  Going Solo:  Representing Yourself in the West Virginia Courts.   Ask the librarian if you need help.

When you finish:

At the end of your session, please complete an online survey or one of the printed surveys next to the computer.  We really would like to know if this Center and materials were helpful to you.

This program is sponsored in part by a grant from the State Justice Institute, SJI-03-N-107, in cooperation with the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia and the West Virginia Library Commission.
